This year we did plenty of tour of the Golden Ring cities. In last reports we told you how it was in Tula-Ryazan and Seliger-Valday. This time it Suzdal-Yaroslavl time. Enjoy reading and photos below.
This tour was planned for the 8-10th of September, good weather when its already not too warm and still not too cold. There were four riders in a group, two guys have already traveled with us and two guys were new.
We began our trip from our office at Kievskaya and headed off from Moscow via Schelkovskoe Highway through small towns Kirzhach, Kolchugino and Uriev-Polsky. We plenty of stops for sightseeing and photos we reached Suzdal by evening.
In Suzdal we booked small hotel built from wood with cozy numbers and excellent Russian Sauna. Before going to Sauna there was a walking tour over the city, many old building, beautiful churches and monasteries, local Kremlin and watchtower, local honey beer and strong liquors. Suzdal is definitely one of the most beautiful cities of the Golden Ring. After we had Russian sauna with steam master and homemade dinner.
Next morning, we headed to Ples, Kostrom and Yaroslavl. More info about Ples we will give in our next ride report and now we want to tell you more about deer farm not far from Kostroma. It is local on the other side of Volga river and to reach it you must cross the river with ferry from Krasnoe on Volga village. Price for the ferry is around 1,5 Euro and it goes every 30-60 minutes. On the farm you can see deer’s, very friendly animals. We learned about this place from our Kostroma friend Alexander.
After visiting farm, we headed to Yaroslavl. We came to the city already after the sunset and after dinner had a small walking tour around its center. Yaroslavl is the second most beautiful city of the Golden Ring. All its center is considered to be UNESCO world heritage site.
Next day in the morning some guys had extra walk because in the evening it was not enough time to see all its places of interest. And after that we headed to Moscow via Uglich, Mishkin and Sergiev Posad.
In the end it was a nice ride with great memories. Thank you guys for joining us and see you next time. Below you can see photos and please join us next year in this tour again.
