Moscow – Smolensk - Moscow
Day 1. Moscow - Smolensk, 450 km
Via beautiful Rublevo-Uspenskoe highway and secondary roads after that we will ride towards Borodinskoye field. Borodino is a place where on the 7th September 1812 a famous battle between Napoleon’s Grand Army and Russian army was fought. Opened in 1839 this fantastic museum with more than 200 historical monument and exhibits covers the territory of more than 110 sq. km. After visiting Borodino museum we will ride to Smolensk. We will take some gravel roads incl. a part of historical “Old Smolensk road”. In the evening we will make a short walk and have dinner in one of city’s restaurants. We will spend a night here.
Day 2. Smolensk, 150 km
In the morning we will ride across Smolensk neighborhood. We will see Katyn memorial, bizarre architectural monument in Flenovo and just ride around interesting and beautiful places. In the evening we will back to Smolensk where a local guide will make a historical tour for us.
Day 3. Smolensk - Moscow, 430 km
Riding through Dorogobuzh and Vyazma we will head to Moscow. We will make a few stops at some interesting historical places, such as Dorogobyzh eartworks and we will surely buy local sweetness, Vyazma cakes, foe those who have a sweet tooth. After lunch we will drive back to Moscow. If the weather is OK, we can use the difficult dirt section of the "Old Smolensk road".
