Day 1. Moscow – Suzdal, 250 km
We avoid a big state road and take Schelkovskoye highway to go to Suzdal via lots of small interesting towns. Upon arrival we check in to a private guest house, leave the motorcycles and go for a walk. It’s peaceful and quiet here in the evening, when the majority of tourists leave the town. We will see old churches and monasteries. Later we come back to the guest house, where home-made dinner and khrenovukha (alcoholic drink made from horseradish) are waiting for us.
Highlight of the day: Suzdal
Day 2. Suzdal – Ples – Yaroslavl, 300 km
In the morning we go to Ples, a town on Volga river bank. We’ll take a boat tour on Volga, the mother of Russian rivers, and we try local smoked fish. Then we go to Kostroma and Saint-Trinity Ipatjev men monastery there. Next we go to Yaroslavl, probably the most beautiful city of the Golden Ring. All the city center is protected by the Unesco Heritage org.
Highlight of the day: Ples, river walk on the Volga
Day 3. Yaroslavl – Moscow, 350 km
The last, but not least. Again we choose minor roads instead of the big and busy state ones. We will see old towns and villages: Myshkin, Uglich, Kalyazin, all of them are on Volga banks. The last stop before we come back to Moscow is Sergiev Posad.
Highlight of the day: The small town of Myshkin
