Motorcycle tour from Moscow to the north regions of Russia, to Saint-Petersburg and Karelia Republic with visiting several cities of the Golden Ring, tasting local food, good and sometimes not very good secondary roads, BBQ, sauna, swimming in the lakes and visiting museums and UNESCO world heritage sights.This is a pure riding tour with just few days of rest. You will see small towns and villages and both Russia capitals, highways and small rural roads, there will be city walking  tours and boat trips to islands in the Ladoga and Onega Lakes. 

Good alternative to our Moscow-Saint-Petersburg: Never Ending Classic tour if you want to see more real Russia and have more riding and a bit less culture (museum, big cities). In this tour you will have a change to see all most interesting places in both, Moscow and Saint-Petersburg, plus we visit Karelia -  a marvelous region located near the Finland with very small population and emty roads. In Karelia we visit Valaam Monastery and Kizhi Wooden Museum.

Route: where we would go

Moscow – Seliger/Valday – Velikiy Novgorod – Saint-Petersburg – Sortavala – Petrozavodsk – Viterga – Vologda – Yaroslavl – Moscow



Day 1. Moscow Arrival

Getting bikes, signing papers, meeting team and welcome dinner in the evening

Day 2. Moscow city tour

Once you are in Moscow you cant miss Red Square, Moscow Kremlin, Metro and Arbat Street. In the evening we do final preparations and have team dinner 

Day 3. Moscow – Seliger/Valday, 420 km

With secondary roads we leave Moscow and ride to the Valday National Park and Seliger Lakes. After big city today we have rest in the national park

Day 4. Seliger – Novgorod, 330 km

More secondary roads, small villages and towns. In the end we reach Novgorod, one of the oldest cities in Russia, its 1155 years old. We walk to the Kremlin and after have a dinner in one of the restaurant on the shores of the Volkhov river

Day 5. Novgorod – Saint-Petersburg, 250 km

Saint-Petersburg is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Marvelous palaces, churches and cathedrals, small streets and channels, Neva river and Baltic Sea. We reach the city and go for a city tour. In the evening dinner in Vodka Museum

Day 6. Saint-Petersburg, day off

Full day city tour. We visit Peterhof, Hermitage, Savior on Blood Cathedral and many other sights. Free time in the evening 

Day 7. Saint-Petersburg – Sortavala, 280 km

Heading to the North we will reach Karelia Republic today. There will be 5-7 km gravel road and after fantastic 70 km roads with ups and downs, turns and great views. We stay today in Sortavala in the hotel complex on the Ladoga Lake. If the weather is good we take a boat to Valaam Monastery. Russian sauna and tasty dinner in the evening 

Day 8. Sortavala – Petrozavodsk, 350 km

Once more great riding day to the capital of the Karelia Republic. We will reach Petrozavodsk today and straight from the bike just into the boat to see Kizhi, unique wooden museum complex in the middle of another big lake with old wooden houses and churches. 

Day 9. Petrozavodsk – Vitegra,  250 km

Late departure and road to Vitegra, small town where we will have a rest day tomorrow. In the evening we cook Russian BBQ and have free time.

Day 10. Vitegra, day off

Half day city tour, free time in the evening

Day 11. Vitegra - Vologda, 320 km

Heading back to Moscow in last days we will visit several cities of the Golden Ring, for example Vologda. Traditional small town with very quiet way of life, small street, old building, cozy restaurants and nice people

Day 12. Vologda - Yaroslavl, 250 km

Yaroslavl is considered to be most beautiful city of the Golden Ring, its center is all considered to be UNESCO Heritage site 

Day 13. Yaroslavl - Moscow, 380 km

In last riding day we reach Moscow making plenty of stops on the way in different town along the Volga River. In Sergiev Posad we stop at famous Sergieva Lavra

Day 14. Moscow, departure
